About Christof Müller
Christof is a passionate diving instructor and trainer who wants to share the wonders of the underwater world. With thousands of dives in cold water, the Mediterranean Sea, and the caves of Mexico, Christof brings unparalleled expertise to the table.

Christof is a seasoned trainer, both in his main job as an IT consultant and trainer with over 25 years of experience and as a diving instructor. Here his passion and focus is to prepare his students for the challenges of technical diving. He does so both within GUE as well as in SDI / TDI when it comes to sidemount diving. Due to this unique combination, he regularly trains both beginners and experienced technical divers.
He himself has logged thousands of dives in cold water here in Germany (lakes & mines), as well as in warmer waters (Malta, Gozo, Croatia) and especially in the cenotes of Mexico, where he completed his cave training up to CCR full cave. The complete list of certifications as a diver can be found below. He has logged over 200 hours on the Kiss Sidewinder (CCR) since 2021 and also dives both in sidemount and backmount doubles in open circuit. He completed his own technical training with GUE, TDI, ISE, and PSAI, learning only from the best.
As a diving instructor, he will guide you through GUE’s Fundamentals, DPV1, or Navigation Primer courses, as well as SDI and TDI sidemount courses, Intro to Tech and Advanced Nitrox. You can find the complete list and further information under “Courses.”
Several days a month, you can find Christof at Deepstop in Schwetzingen. He is happy to advise you with regards to equipment and training and is the shop’s specialist for all things sidemount. As such, he is happy to adjust your new sidemount system for you. Deepstop also serves as his base for all courses. The proximity to various lakes further simplifies organization and ensures that everything runs smoothly.

This means you will not only acquire a solid foundation of skills that you can build on in your technical diving courses, but also develop a genuine understanding of the theory, which will enable you to make your own decisions. GUE COURSES
GUE is a well recognized training agency founded out of a desire to explore the underwater world safely. To this end, GUE has developed standards for safe diving in order to train capable and competent divers. Christof has been teaching diving courses at GUE since 2018, with a particular focus on the Fundamentals course and the Navigation and DPV Primers. These courses require particular precision and will equip any future technical diver with a solid foundation to build on.
The Fundamentals is by far the most popular GUE course. It allows divers of all levels to improve their skills and prepares them for their future diving life and, if applicable, a safe introduction to technical diving. Since 2025 a new course structure divides the Fundamentals course into three courses.
You have completed your initial scuba training (OWD or similar) and would like to refine and consolidate your diving skills. Then the Performance Diver course is for you. It is aimed at all divers, regardless of whether they want to pursue technical diving or not. This two-day course (4 dives) will help you refine your basic skills (buoyancy, trim, balance, fin kicks, teamwork). You will also learn how to dive with Nitrox.
The Basic Fundamentals course is your introduction to further diving courses with GUE (primer courses). It allows non-GUE divers to learn about the configuration and mindset of GUE and to develop a solid foundation of skills. No matter where you are in your diving, the Fundamentals course will help you become a better diver. The course can be completed with either single or double tanks and optionally in a dry suit (experience required).
The Technical Fundamentals course is aimed at experienced divers who are interested in advanced courses in technical, rebreather, or cave diving. Prerequisites include certification to 30 meters, 75 non-training dives and 25 dives with doubles.
Autonomous divers should be able to find their way underwater. In this course, you will learn about natural navigation, as well as using a compass and a map. You will also learn how to work with lines, and at the end of the course, you will be able to create a map on your own. The core of Christof Müller’s course is learning how to plan and execute a dive in a reproducible manner. This will allow you to truly explore the underwater world. The Navigation Primer is a two-day course with at least three dives, at least one of which must take place in poor visibility.
Every diver knows the feeling of wanting to dive a little further. A DPV allows you to reach different dive sites or spend more time at your dive destination, e.g. a wreck. In this 3-day course (min. 5 dives), you will learn how to use a DPV safely, how to plan your gas consumption, and you will practice all skills and emergency scenarios with a DPV. The prerequisite is successful completion of a GUE Fundamentals course.
An introduction to the GUE configuration of doubles and the necessary skills and drills.
In this two day course you will learn how to dive safely with a drysuit.
The Deep primer is your introduction to deeper dives using Nitrox 32 or Trios 30/30.
The Rescue Primer teaches basic rescue skills and emergency management for divers.
SIDEMOUNT COURSES
Christof is one of the few GUE instructors in Germany who also teach sidemount diving. He himself dives sidemount as his preferred configuration in the Mexican cenotes, both in OC and with the Sidewinder as a rebreather. Christof teaches sidemount courses at SDI / TDI, the world’s largest association for technical diving.
This 2-day course with at least two dives is your introduction to sidemount diving. You will learn how to use sidemount equipment safely and practice safety-related skills. Christof will advise you on equipment and professionally adjust your gear.
The TDI course is ideal for technical divers who want to expand their tool kit to include sidemount diving. In contrast to the SDI course, advanced skills and drills such as various finning techniques and stage handling are practiced. The course lasts at least 2 days and includes 3 dives and at least 4 hours of theory, covering topics such as problem solving and diving through narrow passages.
The Intro to Tech Diving course from TDI offers the ideal introduction to technical diving for trained divers. Here you will learn the basic skills of dive planning, buoyancy, trim, balance, finning, gas planning, and emergency procedures. Your instructor will help you optimize your equipment settings for both backmount and sidemount diving. The course lasts at least 3 days and includes both dives and theory lessons.
This course, which lasts at least two days, trains divers in the use of a DPV (diver propulsion vehicle) and teaches them the specific skills, dive planning, procedures, and techniques. Possible problems and dangers of diving with a DPV are also discussed, as well as how to avoid them.
Expand your limits underwater! The Advanced Nitrox course from TDI teaches you everything you need to know to safely use Enriched Air up to 100% oxygen. Ideal for divers who want longer, optimized bottom times and greater safety. It is the first step towards decompression diving.
What you will learn: gas management, dive planning, equipment configuration, and skills, especially ascents and problem solving while maintaining your position within the team.
Prerequisites: Nitrox certification, minimum age 18. An Intro to Tech or equivalent certification is recommended but not required.
PERSONAL TRAINING & TRY DIVES
Would you like to work on specific skills or problems individually? Or would you simply like to try out what diving with twin tanks or sidemount feels like?
It doesn’t always have to be a new course. Sometimes it’s just helpful to work on specific skills with an experienced trainer. Based on a video analysis of your specific problems and deficits, Christof will help you improve your diving skills and achieve your personal goals.
Are you interested in diving with double tanks in a backmount or sidemount configuration, but unsure whether it’s right for you? Then a Try Dive is what you need. It gives you the opportunity to test out the new equipment. You will get to know the chosen configuration in detail and it will be adjusted to fit you correctly. Before entering the water, you will learn some safety techniques such as S and V drills on land. After the dive, you will discuss your diving experience and receive a professional assessment of your skills. The course lasts at least half a day.
